A Bit About Laurel
Laurel Claus-Johnson is a well known and well respected Elder in Kingston. Originating from the Mohawk Nation Laurel moved to Kingston from her home community of Bancroft in 1986 to attend Queen's Law School.
Laurel received her B.A. in Native Studies from Trent University and furthered her knowledge of the law at the University of Saskatchewan. Subsequently, Laurel attended both Queen's and Carleton University law schools.
Kingston has benefited from Laurel's energy and enthusiasm in many ways including working at P4W, Dawn House and volunteering as the Kingston Community Health Centre Indigenous Heath Council C0-Chair and the Indigenous Day of Wellness Committee.
